These songs date back to the 1920’s and 1930’s except the last one, Runnin’ Out of Fools, thus some of the dated black and white shots, taken waaaaay after those times, but with that old sepia toned feel from that era.
Amy sang since she was a toddler, but recorded these recently. Her singing, photography and design skills are all inherited from her mother, June, who sang opera, was the official photographer for the Bronx Zoo and had an interior design business later in life. She feels lucky to have had the exposure to all these art forms from both ends of the gene pool!
Enjoy the music. Thanks for buying them!

I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter
By Fred Ahlert & Joe Young Performed By Amy Ahlert C. Kobalt Publishing, Bluewater Music and Downtown Music Arguably the most well-known of Fred’s catalogue, seems to be the story of Ms. Ahlert’s life as she is a letter writer from way back!
By Mort Dixon Performed By Amy Ahlert A great standard, accompanied by some terrific musicians, led my Mark Fifer on the keyboards. A wonderful flute player, Methany Mason, subs as the blackbird!
By Fred Ahlert & Roy Turk Performed By Amy Ahlert C. Downtown Music, Bluewater, Kobalt This wonderful ballad, with gorgeous piano backing by Danny Obadia, was recorded for Ms. Ahlert’s son when he was young. It’s a lullaby and a love song, too.
By Richard Ahlert and Kay Rogers Performed By Amy Ahlert
C. Downtown Music, Harry Fox This great R & B song is accompanied by the talented keyboard artist, Danny Obadia. He really brings it home. Amy witnessed her dad write this song. Her version may not appeal to deadbeat spouses or people looking for a romantic ballad.
